Ultra-wide band technology is a hot topic in the research field of wireless mobile communication during the ,ast few years. However, in order to construct an effective UWB communication system, there is still much work to do. Among these, the most important issues are: the world's authorized UWB regulations, the designing of low-price and low-power UWB CMOS chip that can be large-scale manufactured, a new UWB system structure which can coexist with narrowband communication systems and maximize its own capacity and the designing of relevant receiver, a proper channel model which can accurately describe the characteristics of UWB signal's transmission.Firstly, this dissertation analyses the pasic UWB waveform and compares two different data modulation schemes which adopting time-hopping modulation. About the reception theory, it analyses the receiver model that applies to the AWGN channel, puts forward a Rake receiver model in time-variant multi-path channel environment according to the characteristics of indoor wireless communication and also deduces its system performance limits without channel coding. On the aspect of the suppression of narrowband interference, according to the characteristics of spectrum of received signal, the dissertation puts forward a relatively simple algorithm based on fast variety of spectrum slope that can estimates the narrowband interference waveform. The simulation results show the similar receiver performance to the AWGN channel.
