The research and application of ultrashort wave are more and more widely, ultrashort wave communication has become an indispensable communication way in the field of modern communication, especially in military communication. Based on the needs of ultrashort wave wireless communications technology development, this paper gives theoretical analysis and simulation verification on channel characteristics of ultrashort wave, and gives the VHF channel simulator implementation scheme on the software defined radio platform.This paper views the background and research significance of the ultrashort wave channel transmission characteristics and has research on channel transmission characteristics such as the multipath transmission delay, doppler shift frequency expansion, large-scale fading.Through analysis and comparison of the channel model, this paper choose the irregular terrestrial transmission channel model weighted small-scale fading model as the primary model.This project gives the theoretical simulation based on the actual needs of the project. This project can be implemented on the SDR platform,and the subject system can be reconstructed,the software of SDR platform can be upgraded. This project allocate the PC x86, FPGA two part hardware resources rationally and cooperate with each other, and achieve the ultrashort wave channel characteristics on the SDR platform and achieves the optimization of resource utilization. The traditional use of FIFO multipath delay characteristics of the transmission method of IP core implements improved using cascaded FIFO structure,greatly reducing the RAM and trigger resources, and the introduction of differential delay probability density distribution algorithm and multipath fading factor. This paper purpose a new solution to achieve two-way channel simulation on an adjustable transmission power RF transmitter board.Finally, this paper gives ultrashort wave wireless channel transmission characteristics test method,and analyze the testing results. The test results show that the SDR platform on VHF radio channel characteristics can be realized and verify the feasibility of the whole scheme.
