In today's society,a variety of phenomenon and speech against women shows that gender discrimination are still not been fundamentally solved,and the development of the modern civilization and the gradual awakening of the female independent consciousness made it to be solved.In the process of civilization,the mass media plays an important role,not only reflect the many social problems,but also participated in the people's social cognition.Therefore,from the perspective of mass media,can look over the status quo of social gender discrimination and analysis the causes.So,this paper takes women report of The China News Award and The Pulitzer Journalism Prizes as the research sample,to compare the women's survival present situation and specific performance in the mass media.This paper based on the theory of social gender,through quantitative analysis and text analysis,get hold of the present situation for women in the different age groups,different professional identity and roles,and analysis the number,field and tendency of women report,to evaluate women report basic situation.In addition,let society,family,school field as the dimension,embodied the image of women in the mass media.Finally,analyzes the causes of the women report in these two awards gender difference by the method of comparative study.This article research station in China and the United States under different political,economic and cultural background,to be more comprehensive and multi-angle to analysis the female problem,finally this paper concluded:Gender discrimination still exists in modem society,and has a certain universality,However,gender discrimination presents different characteristics under the background of different social.Therefore,the construction of social gender consciousness under the influence of the external environment and it is variable.
