Design And Research Of Item Authoring Tool In Exam System Based On Web

With the development of computer and information technology,the general computer test has been gradually applied in the traditional examination practice.More and more examination organizations begin to replace traditional paper test with computer.Since it is a computer test,the item authoring is bound to be considered in the first place among all aspects of the examination.There are two types of item authoring system available at home and abroad,which are based on C/S architecture and the B/S architecture.Due to free of installation and easily accessed,B/S architecture is adopted in this paper.The core technology in this research is based on web,item authoring is based on component and custom item template.Item content is exported in conformance with QTI standard.This item authoring tool breaks through traditional authoring method which is based on fixed item template in which case the item type is limited.Item author can innovate item type using custom item template and item component.Since the system is based on web,rich text editor can be integrated into authoring tool.With the help of rich text editor,we can insert images,audio,video and other kinds of multimedia materials into item as content,then the item can be displayed in varied forms.Finally,the item can be exported in conformance with QTI and can be used crossed different platforms.
