Research On File Sharing Solution In IMS RCS System

The popularity of Internet application creat favorable conditions for the rapid development of Internet application providers,while carriers is gradually becoming the pipeline of Internet applications and their profit is under threat.In order to change this dilemma and to compete with Internet application providers,carriers are launching RCS(rich communication services)actively and hoping to provide end users with a unified service platform to enhance their competitive advantages.At the same time,because of the rapid development of network technologies,4G data services could provide the faster Internet speed for mobile users and the users' demands of mobile file sharing is becoming more and more intensity than ever.Under this background,the combination of RCS and file sharing has become one of the hot spots for carriers.A cloud based RCS file sharing solution is proposed based on the research on the IMS network architecture and cloud storage technologies.The analysis of the RCS system file sharing requirements is also the foundation of the solution.Current solutions cannot achieve cloud sharing,requires additional cache servers and the signaling process is complex.The solution brought forword in this paper could solve existing problems,and is helpful for carriers to provide more competitive RCS file sharing application.In this paper,the requirements of file sharing in the RCS system are analyzed by the investigation on various file sharing applications.Then the architecture and key processes of RCS technology are studied in detail,including the current RCS file sharing scheme;Finally a solutions of cloud based file sharing in IMS RCS system is presented,which including service processes,logical architecture and key technologies for two cloud solutions.In the end,the file sharing solution in IMS RCS is analyzed and evaluated from two aspects of business process and technology.
