Research And Implementation Of Network Transparent Print Audit System

With the extensive use of network printing, printing waste and information leakage in the daily work bring huge losses for company and institutions, so the needs of network printing security audit is more urgent.However, the traditional print audit technology has many problems, such as strong dependency on operating system, low compatibility, poor scalability, complicated deployment and high cost of audit, which can not satisfy the diversification of computer operating system and the diversity of printer varieties and types.Based on this background and the demand analysis of network print audit, this paper proposes a scheme of network print audit based on transparent proxy, designs and implements each module of the system. It solves the problems of traditional audit technology, improves the completeness of audit function, reduces the audit costs.The research work of this paper is mainly from the following aspects:Firstly, the paper introduces the basic principle of network printing and the classification of printer recognizable format, and makes a deep analysis of the mainstream print audit technology, summarizes the basic structure of the existing audit technology and points out its advantages and disadvantages. Analyzes the network printing flow, and combines the network audit system technology, in order to study the scheme of audit in network printing process.Then, based on the requirement analysis, the design of the network transparent printing audit system is put forward. It also introduces the technical framework design and improvement of the network printing audit system based on transparent proxy. Including the Linux Bridge feature analysis based on the bridge architecture, the double HOOK print data stream acquisition technology based on the NetFilter architecture,the printer IP automatic acquisition technology and the Socket proxy optimization based content caching technology And print file information extraction and content reduction techniques.And then, the implementation of the network print audit system based on transparent proxy is described in detail. The overall architecture of the system based on B/S and the features of layers and basic rules of the system are introduced. In addition, the function and algorithm design of the core module of the system are expatiated, and the function of the application layer display is introduced.At last, the system successfully deployed in the embedded hardware which forms the print audit box. The rationality and effectiveness of the system are verified by experiments. In the case of multi-operating system and multi-printer model, the test results show that the system has the advantages of plug-and-play,transparent configuration, multi-operating system compatibility, multi-printer model support, and strong audit function.
