With the development of information and communication technology,more and more traditional industries began to utilize information technology to support their production and make their system more intellegent.The investment and construction scale of Data Center increased rapidly,because it is an essential infrastructure for information system.The role that Data Center plays in the enterprise and national economic development is becoming much more important than ever.The way to deploy a data center with flexibility in a short time and achieve effective cost control is becoming an important issue of concern to enterprise.The data center industry has achived a consensus that establishing modular and scalable data center is an inevitable trend.However,the current data center monitoring is customized for large data centers or small computer room,and is not able to meet the command of modular data centers.Therefore it is demanding to build a monitoring system which is easy to configure and expand.In this paper,a data center monitoring system which can ensure easy deployment and flexible expansion is designed and implemented based on the architecture of IoT.The system utilizes sensor networks and protocol conversion unit to collect a variety of monitoring data.Also,it adopts CANBUS for data transmition which has high reliability and high transfer rate and is easy to access.Firstly,this paper analyzes the development status of data center monitoring system and IoT and introduces the wide-range application of IoT and the reseach results of the data center monitoring at home and abroad.Secondly,the paper introduces the classification and functions of data center monitoring system.The objects that are montiored are also indroduced as well as the meaning of such kind of monitoring.Then,to meet with the modular data center monitoring requirements,the paper gives an introduction about the process of building the software and hardware platforms of the monitoring system,followed by the knowledge of significant hardware and software components.The indroduced hardware include AT91SAM9X25 microprocessors,STM32 microcontrollers and CANBUS bus,and the introduced software comprise of the details of building up the development environment of Linux web server and embedded database.Again,after the description of software design-related technologies,the paper accomplished the functional block diagram's design.Also,the detailed design of each software module and the important database table is given.Finally,the function of the system were tested and desplayed,for example,the dynamically display of monitoring data,the web interface alarm,the dynamic monitoring of the device status,the system configuration and so on.
