iBeacon technique, including the typical services which are pushing notification application and indoor positioning application. Through the iBeacon which is deployed, user can shake with the WeChat app to get the coupon pushed by the store. At the same time user also can get the current position by the location-based service. These applications which are based on the iBeacon, are easier for users to tailor their shopping experience. For various businesses, in order to provide their services,their beacons will deploy in some public areas such as elevator, corridor and so on, this leads to waste of resource. And it is necessary for the iBeacon which is deployed, to be regular checked, in order to timely find the iBeacon which has low battery and has been accidentally moved. So in order to avoid the waste of resource and the failure of services, we designed and implemented a multifunctional iBeacon which can provide service for multiple businesses at the same time, and also designed a tracking technology which can help user checking.Paper first introduces the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol which is low power consumption and the Nordic 51822 chip which is used to design the multifunctional iBeacon, and analyses the interference factors of Bluetooth signal as well as the method to deal with these factors; then describes the design and implementation scheme of the multifunctional iBeacon, based on Bluetooth 4.0 protocol and the API provided by the Nordic company, designed advertising mechanism, configuring mechanism and the mechanism of data storage in power dump, including the function of advertising kinds of ID, the function of configuring properties, location discovery, sleeping function and so on, build the development environment and implemented these functions. Finally the paper introduces the design and implementation scheme of the tracking technology, considering the relationship between the Bluetooth signal and the distance, the influence of human body weaken the signal and the signal variation rule caused by multipath effect. According to these signal properties, to design the tracking status and tracking process. Builds the development environment and implements the function.Finally we do some experiments about the function and the performance of multifunctional iBeacon. The function experiment includes advertising kinds of ID, configuring properties, location discovery and so on, the result is that these functions are all correct; and the performance experiment includes signal cover, signal stability,connection time and so on, the result is the same as other beacon, the time is about 3 seconds. We do some tests about the accuracy and efficiency of tracking technology, the result proved this technique is accurate and effective. The multifunctional iBeacon designed by this paper, effectively solved the problem,which is the waste of resource, caused by many repeated beacons which are deployed, by advertising various ID. At the same time, tracking technique designed by this paper, effectively help user checking iBeacon, by the localization algorithm which is based on the character of Bluetooth signal.
