| Kodoku no Gourmet is an ongoing manga published in Weekly SPA! on an irregular basis,and it has been adapted into a gourmet-featured TV series by TV Tokyo in 2012,which has been on air on 23:45 every Wednesday night in TV Tokyo As a midnight gourmet show,the audience rating of Kodoku no Gourmet has been doing well,only the audience rating dropped to 3.8%during the airing of Episode 1 of Season 5,and its rating has been maintaining at 3-4%stably ever since,proving the popularity of the show,and such performance is rare among midnight shows.Therefore,Kodoku no Gourmet is being studied in this paper for analysis and interpretation,and the extraction of its shared icons for the revealing of its cultural connotations contained.Case analysis has been adopted in this research,and a ritual view is used as the research angle for the research of the show.Deep cultural connotations are revealed through the interpretation of the meanings of the shared icons of real objects in the show.First,the connotation of the ritual view of communications and the integrating degree with its research object are elaborated.Secondly,food icons,personnel icons and scene icons are used as the base points with which the show is explanatorily interpreted.Then,ritual national characteristics,ritual interactive connotation and ritual scenario building are presented with the interpretation of the shared icons mentioned above,obtaining the cultural significance that the show is trying to convey to the audience.Based on the theory of ritual view of communication,a representative gourmet show Kodoku no Gourmet is selected as the research object to analyze and interpret the show,summarize the shared symbols and reveal the underlying cultural connotation.This study not only aims to broaden the perspectives for Kodoku no Gourmet and other gourmet shows,but also attempts to provide certain references and experiences for the creation of TV gourmet shows in China. |
