Distance, which is the length of the two aparts on the space.Ranging is one of the most basic task in our daily life and work.Since the ancient time,hard-working and wise people have began to set out to explore it.So far we have distance measuring unit, such as kilometer, meter, centimeter. The technology and the limitations of the times also made a lot of things on the wrong lines in the exploration. With the progress of technology and the development of urban construction speed-up.In the information,high-speed,Intelligent age, distance measurement has become one of dispensable means?Topographic survey and engineering survey requires some approaches. Now people have mastered the effective ranging method in various circumstances, including ultrasonic distance sensor, laser ranging sensors, radar ranging sensors and infrared distance sensor. This topic deduce the calculation formula on the basis of the principle and design the whole framework of experiments. The paper in the first two chapters introduced the modern ranging technology, all kinds of sensors and the background of microwave range and the distance formula.the third part of the chapter design the experiment frame, and validate the distance formula in second chapter by using probe mobile measuring static single target.By comparing the experimental and the theoretic results, the formulas(?)proposed areverified.Combined with the single chip microcomputer to collect the frequency and display, realize the Doppler ranging method and develop a new type of distance measuring equipment. The structure is simple and easy to operate.Sensor is high sensitivity, high response, which has wide induction, not easily influenced by temperature, humidity, noise, weather, etc.
