As we all known,with the rapid development of microstrip antenna technology and the crowding of the radio communication band,researchers have gradually shifted the focus on centimeter wave,millimeter wave,sub-millimeter wave and terahertz band.K band is 18?27GHz and 24GHz is defined as ISM(Industrial Scientific Medical)by the International Telecommunication Union Radio Communications Bureau,which is a global common band.K band microstrip array is widely used in engineering.It is the most commonly used in civilian facilities,such as vehicle radar,radar speed meter and collision avoidance.Side-lobe level is an important index of antenna performance.In many occasions,in order to improve the performance of anti-interference and anti-ground clutter,the side-lobe of the antenna is required as low as possible.Microstrip antenna is the earliest planar structure antenna,which has the advantages of low profile,small size,low cost,easy integration and suitable for array.According to different application scenarios,the antenna is usually required to have low side-lobes,high gain,strong directivity and the formation of fixed bevel beam and other characteristics.A single microstrip is often difficult to meet the requirements of specific occasion,which requires the use of a number of microstrip antennas in a certain arrangement of microstrip array antenna to meet these characteristics.In this thesis,a set of three microstrip antenna array is designed based on millimeter wave radar system.Based on the many advantages of microstrip antenna,especially for more suitable array.In this dissertation,the array antenna unit is designed with microstrip antenna.And using the Taylor synthesis method to reduce the side-lobe of the antenna array.The specific work of this thesis is as follows:Firstly,the research background and the research status at home and abroad are introduced.The radiation characteristics,feeding method,surface wave and microstrip antenna design steps of microstrip antenna are briefly introduced.Secondly,the basic theory of antenna array is described.This part mainly presents the characteristics of the antenna array,the design principle of feed network and the design method of low side-lobe.Chebyshev synthesis and Taylor synthesis are focused emphatically.A K band low sidelobe microstrip antenna array is designed,which consists of a 8×5 transmit antenna array,a 8x2 and two 8x1 receiving antenna arrays.Taylor synthesis method is used to design feed network of antenna array Through optimizing the engineering model,a physical object is produced and tested.The simulation results are in good agreement with the measured results,and the design objectives are achieved.
