A Research On Disaster News Reporting Of Japanese Media

Affected by the natural environment,Japan,our neighbor,has been a disaster-prone country since the ancient time,especially the earthquake.According to statistics,more than 20 percent of earthquakes above magnitude 6 in the world every year occur in Japan.The data released by the Japanese Meteorological Agency shows that the number of earthquake in Japan is up to 6500 in 2016.Shorten the time to nearly 20 years,Japan has also undergone several major disasters which shocked the world.The complexity of the city in modern society makes earthquake no longer a single disaster.It will bring all kinds of unexpected crisis to human beings,while compound disasters which are difficult to cope with often lead to painful loss.Japanese weather experts believe that the earthquake is likely to hit any region in Japan at any time.So adequate preparation should be made for earthquake disaster in daily life.In the disaster,the media is seen as“lifeline” by Japanese people which is as important as water,electricity and transportation.The news report about disaster has a profound impact on disaster relief,comforting of people's mood and disaster recovery.It can be said that for all Japanese media practitioners,the disaster report isan important required course which has long been integrated into the daily work.Every Japanese media has paid particular attention to disaster news report.In the long-term disaster news report,the Japanese media summed up the experiences and lessons and gradually formed a relatively complete disaster reporting mechanism.There are emergent earthquake report system as technical support and Mutual Assistance Agreement on security.In addition,major medias often organized staff to carry out earthquake emergency drills.Radio,newspapers,television,Internet and other media all gave full play to their own characteristics in report.Although the effect of communication is not perfect,there are still many things which Chinese media can learn.In recent years,China's media also battled in the disaster news report.The reports of Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan,Ludian earthquake in Yunnan and other reports exposed immaturity of response mechanism,lack of human care,follow-up reports which are not in place and other problems.These problems need Chinese journalism to find solutions.Looking the disaster reports of Japanese newspaper,television and Internet media over the past 20 years,this paper select three typical cases in the time: the Hanshin-Awaji earthquake in1995,the East Japan earthquake in 2011 and Kumamoto earthquake in 2016 as the mainobjects of the study.Through exploring the method of disaster report,concept evolution of disaster report,influence of information era on disaster report and communication effects of follow-up reports,the paper explores methods and modes which are worthy for China to learn,and also find problems which can give Chinese media workers vigilance and enlightenment.
