With the rapid development of railway technology and computer graphics,visual simulation technology has been widely used in the field of training systems of rail transportation as well as the demonstration of 3D teaching and learning systems.The visual simulation system for train operation,constructed by technology of visual simulation,can simulate a variety of rail traffic scenes,providing the training staff with a realistic,vivid and innovative traffic simulation teaching.However,the existing systems of train visual simulation are mainly limited to the basic function of driving,while relatively less research has been done to address the control of train operations.In addition to the basic functions,this paper combines the technology of 3D visual simulation with the control of train operations to construct a CBTC platform based on 3D scenes.In the 3D visual simulation,our platform can simulate the objective environment for the train operation outside,which can also communicate with the control system in real time and simulate train movement under the control of the train control system and its subsystems.The 3D visual simulation platform is the most important basis for the whole train simulation system.Under the consideration of the realities of rail transit field,this paper utilizes the Microsoft MSTS as the basic development platform and some computer graphics tools,such as 3ds Max.This paper gives a detailed introduction of methods of modeling,importing and controlling of 3D models on the proposed platform.Based on the real scenario of Zhengzhou Metro Line 1,the system calls models in the database,batches the sets,maps the transformation,adjusts animation key frames and uses OpenAL to build 3D environment of the line.Our platform combines the 3D visual simulation system which has been built with control subsystems(such as ATS,ATO and ATP)by using some related system interfaces.This paper analyzes the structure and functions of the 3D visual simulation system.It also explains the principle and realization of combination of control subsystems.At the same time,our paper puts forward the corresponding solutions to the problems which may exist in the implementation of combination of two systems,and simulates the train running process under the supervision and control of train control system based on the CBTC simulation platform.The simulation results show that the 3D visual simulation system in this paper has the characteristics of fidelity,scalability,controllability,security and repeatability.Applying the technology of visual simulation to the train control system can not only simulate the rail transit operation realistically,but also realize the real-time information communication between the 3D environment and the train control system.It improves the degree of truth and the scope of simulation.Meanwhile,it provides a new thought of research and test in train control system.
