A series of problems,such as periodical traffic paralysis and frequent traffic accidents have casted a massive shadow over urban transport,which aimed at bringing convenient,safe and fast for the urban-trip.The current traffic situation not only affects the quality of life of the general public,and also seriously threatens people's lives and property.The traditional traffic mode have been overwhelmed,have a serious imbalance situation between the excess investment of country and the actual effect.Therefore,the changes of current traditional traffic mode is imperative and intelligent transportation system emerges as the times require.Intelligent transportation system can largely reduce the traffic accidents caused by human factors,as well as achieve reasonable dispatch and vehicle distribution,which is beneficial to control road traffic flow and avoid traffic jams.As the primary part of intelligent transportation,the autonomous driving car with a feature of artificial intelligence liberate people from traditional driving conditions,and thus change the current driving situation,has become immediate research focus.In view of the existing problems,such as the insufficient authenticity of software modeling and simulation research methods,cannot effectively simulate driving behavior,and the large consumption of human and financial resources as well as the outstanding security risk exist in the real situation research with a real car.Herein,we proposed a new method for the scientific research in the field of intelligent transportation system,based on building a miniature intelligent transportation platform to engage on related technical research in a laboratory environment.First of all,design and build a miniature traffic environment.Build miniature traffic environment of typical road conditions through the analysis of the real traffic environment.The miniature traffic environment possesses a variety of road conditions,the traffic lights,street lamp,garage,and so on.The intelligent control system for traffic lights and street lamp,and the monitoring system for the whole platform have been designed.Secondly,study and design miniature intelligent car.The hardware system is divided into four modules: the motor driving module,the speed test module,the NI myRIO embedded development module,the video capture module and the obstacle detection module,through design the architecture for the miniature intelligent car.We also make a detailed introduction to the function parameters of hardware,and complete the miniature intelligent car hardware platform structures and tests.Thirdly,develop the software platform.The whole software platform is designed in a graphical interface development environment of LabVIEW,which have layered the whole software system first.And we have shown the common parameters to the specific development requirements,including underlying calls VI,speed VI,obstacle distance measurement VI,video capture VI,and the control of motor and servo VI,which make the researchers do the related control algorithm and image processing algorithm studies on the miniature intelligent car by calling the child component VI and don't need to care about underlying hardware.Besides,the obstacle avoiding experiment have been designed for the testing of the whole software system,and the experimental results verify the practicality of this platform.
