With the development of network technology and communication technology,readers can get lots of information through the network and cellphone.Social media is a double-edged sword for library.On the one hand,social media threatens the status of libraries as information and resource center,on the other hand,social media offers libraries an opportunity to innovate their service.Library can provide micro-service by using social medias' diversity functions,extend to libraries' resources and services.Readers can enjoy massive resources and professional service from the library whenever and wherever they are.Using social media,libraries can conform to the trend of the times and the progress of science technology,improve the utilization of library resources,complete transformation,also can close to the readers,meet readers' variety information needs.At present,domestic and foreign libraries using social media provide micro-service are at the exploratory stage.This paper selects 10 domestic and foreign libraries,investigates their micro-services by using social media.This paper selects social media,Weibo,WeChat public platform,Facebook and Twitter,which are widely used in library.This paper chooses them as the research objects.Compare and research from the following four aspects,the media itself,micro-service mode,service contents and service effect of the micro-service.After investigation,this paper analyses and compares domestic and foreign libraries' differences of micro-service by using social media.This paper finds the library micro-service's problems and advanced experiences,provide recommendations to domestic library so that they can use social media provide better micro-service.
