This thesis studies the method of droplet images from Space Experiment of Evaporation and Fluid Interfacial Effects in SJ-10.Based on the characteristics of the droplet,the method used to calculate physical parameters,sucn as the height,the radius of the contact surface,the volume,the surface area,the surface tension and the evaporation rate are designed.This method mainly includes several major parts,picture cropping,edge detection and contour fitting.Image cropping is used to remove the significant noise from the edge.Edge detection can obtain the compressed edge information accurately.The contour fitting includes Laplacian fitting,polynomial fitting,ellipse fitting,and exponential fitting,which are mainly used for the calculation of edge contour curve and contact angle.In these fitting methods,the numerical methods such as Newton-Raphson iteration method,coordinate rotation method and least squares method are introduced to solve the problem that the small asymmetric droplet can not be fitted accurately.According to the droplet image processing method,the author developed the evaporative droplet image processing software,which can deal with visually and quickly a lot of droplet images.The experiment results show that the software can measure accurately the height,the radius of the contact surface,the volume and the surface area of droplet within5 % error,and can accurately calculate the droplet contact angle and surface tension,and can accurately fit contour of droplets.At present,the droplet image processing software has been successfully applied in Space Experiment of Evaporation and Fluid Interfacial Effects,and to process the ground metal droplet image.
