Insulator is necessary equipment for the normal electrical power system,which supports electric transmission line and acts as insulated isolation.Insulator burn-in is because electrical power system in our country has run for a long time.Owing to a large number of insulators,detections of insulators is an arduous task.Supposing insulators have some problems,their resistance would get lower and become zero resistance insulator,which will bring bad influence for electrical power system.Relevant network has covered various districts step by step in recent years.Owing to extra-high voltage class,it brings more serious demand for insulator and its detection.The transmission line with extra-high voltage is higher,which will bring many difficulties for insulator detection.Based on above-mentioned the current situation of insulators monitoring,a robot equipment for inspection on ±600 kV DC tension insulator string is proposed in this paper considering practicability,reliability,intelligent and accuracy.Two-arm linkage drive equipment is introduced into the new detection instrument and the motor,insulator resistance detection instrument are determined,the filtering scheme of detection data is designed and application process is illustrated in detail.The new insulator detection robot testified in tension insulator of DC ±660kV in Yindong line.The test results indicate that the movement ability is excellent and the efficiency and accuracy is higher than manual work.A large scale of application of the new detection robot for insulator will reduce cost of our company operation and promote smart-grid construction.
