Wireless communication technologies have,over the.past decades,revolutionized the way we live.Wireless is everywhere and with almost everything today.The RF power amplifier(PA)is an essential unit of almost all wireless transmitters from tiny sensors and mobile phones to high-power base stations.It strengthens the signal to combat losses in transmission by converting dc electric power to added RF signal power.It is widely recognized that this key element in the wireless link is critical and difficult to implement.It consumes a high proportion of total transceiver energy,and it is also a complex,nonlinear unit that introduces distortion,which can limit the quality of services.Fully integrated two stage 1.8-V power amplifier working at 315 MHz is designed in.SMIC 0.18-?m CMOS process in this paper.The first Common-Source stage is suggested with improved gain and power-controlled over the operating range.The second stage is achieved with cascode topology according to its high isolation and better stability.Results showed that PA delivered 18.4 dBm output power with 71%power-added efficiency(PAE)and 12.4 dBm output power with 60%power-added efficiency(PAE)at 1.8V The proposed PA's second harmonic suppression capacity are more than-20 dBc in two control modes.Wireless networks and wireless products have become increasingly demanding in the development of the current process of communication.And the RF power amplifier is an essential element.Wireless products are increasingly focused on small size and low power consumption targets,power amplifier products as the most difficult to integrate modules and the highest power consumption module,its prospects will undoubtedly get more and more attention.This article is also the follower of the development of convergence of society and the direction of product development,basing on the two requirements of integration and power consumption to do the research.
