The environment and pattern of interpersonal communication in modern society have been largely changed due to fast development of network technology,which makes the communication so convenient that the most distant friends can chat as if they were face to face.What's more,under the help of "We Chat "software in our country,the once impossible word "clairvoyance" and "clairaudience" is no longer a myth any more.Thus the four elements in the Internet age:people,media,society and culture,together produce new paradigms and characteristics inevitably.With the aid of instant messaging software in the interpersonal communication,some indispensable new elements has emerged,such as voice message and emoticons,but their research is still in the preliminary stage at present in the field of new media study.Does different communication approaches have various effects in virtual space and to what degree?What's the influence to interpersonal relationship?To better understand these questions,this paper focuses on the WeChat as the research object,and tries to explore the influence of phonetic and symbol information.Based on the network interpersonal communication theory,this paper used the method of empirical study,mainly through a questionnaire survey to obtain data to examine and discuss the factors influencing the various use behavior and attitudes in the virtual space.According to this definition and content of this research,this article can be divided into six parts;the first part(introduction)stated the background and reasons of this study,mainly about the use of WeChat software.The second part is theory and literature review,from three aspects:interpersonal communication,uncertainty reduction theory and nonverbal communication;The third part analysis the two main study elements:voice and emoticons;The fourth part introduces the questionnaire survey research method and data processing method;the fifth part summarize the key rules found according to the survey as well as gives some suggestions in order to provide a whole view to WeChat product developers,scholars or users.The last part of this paper,discusses the Internet and culture of the influence in interpersonal relationship and suggests some future research directions.
