With the development of the times,the rapid change of science and technology,the upgrading speed of knowledge,and the unprecedented increase in the amount of knowledge and information,"lifelong education" has become a consensus,more and more attention have been paid by the community.In knowledge economy and learning society,with a variety of functions to provide excellent places and all kinds of resources,public libraries have a unique advantage for lifelong learning,so they have the necessity and the possibility to serve adult learning.With the continuous development of network and digital multimedia,public books use different modern technologies to have more spaces in share of network education and knowledge resources.The function of storing books in the libraries provides a great convenience for adult readers to complete their studies,the library should play a more important role in lifelong education.In recent years,with the continuous development of science and technology and information technology and the gradual promotion of application,the concept of media and information literacy continues to develop.These concepts are in the development of personal capacity,including access to information,storage of information,assessment of obtained information,and the rational use of information.As for adult learners,must have media and information literacy,and master the resources and information for their own use in order to complete adult learning.This paper mainly uses interview to observe and interview some readers who constantly do reading in Shanghai Library.Try to show their reading process and methods,use the media and information literacy framework model to analyze their ability to access information and knowledge,and evaluate the function of the library in lifelong learning and lifelong education of Shanghai Library,so as to provide some reference for the optimization and realization of the various functions of the public library in the future.This paper has six parts:Chapter One describes the background,significance,domestic and foreign research status reviewed of media and information literacy and public libraries function.Chapter Two describes research questions,methods,and the source of this text.From the third chapter,this paper begins to analyze the source of this text by the means of media and information literacy.Chapter Three analyzes the knowledge acquisition of readers and presents the process of autonomic learning through media and information literacy.In the learning process,the readers will master a better definition and expressions of their own needs,and then they can make the best of the library to find a variety of resources more smoothly and reasonably use them.Chapter Four analyzes readers' evaluation and their quality of identifying knowledge and information in library.Readers can make their own evaluation of information providers and content through understanding of the media and information,then to discriminate valuable information.Due to the difference of information mastery,readers will hold various ideas towards the evaluation and integration of information.Chapter Five mainly analyzes readers' ability to create knowledge.Lacking in knowledge creation subjectively and objectively,readers need to enhance ability to exchange information.The reader's information exchanging platform not only can offer real-world activities,but also can increase various activities in the virtual world(like Internet)to facilitate the dissemination of information at any time.Chapter Six refers to conclusion and expectation.Through the analysis of learning activities,this chapter summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of readers in the media and information literacy to provide some inspiration for the construction of public libraries.
