Construction And Demo Applications Of TCM Tongue Manifestation And Pulse Manifestation Ontology

With the continuous development of information construction in TCM hospital,hospital information systems collect a large amount of medical data.When big data technology is appearing,people pay more attention to these data from the daily medical behavior.They dispose,analyse and use of these data with big data technology,and carry out a large number of Chinese medicine clinical research,which also fully reflects this idea that TCM comes from clinic and will go to clinic.Tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation play the important role in the diagnosis of TCM.However,due to the flexibility of natural language,there are many kinds of forms in the description,and which causes some problems in recogniting and processing of them with the computer and affects the quality of data mining.Ontology can be formalized and standardized to describe the relevant knowledge,which has been used in the specification of medical terms.Therefore,it is an urgent task to construct tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation ontology,which can play an important role in standardizing the expression of tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation and improving the quality of mining results and efficiency of mining.Objective:Building TCM tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation ontology,standardizing diagnosis information expression of tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation as the foundation of recognizing and dealing with them by the computer,and standardizing and assisting doctors to collect the tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation information.Methods:Constructing tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation ontology by the seven_steps method.First,Collecting terminology from the published standards,Chinese Terms in traditional Chinese Msdicine and Pharmacy,Study on TCM Symptomatology and Second Edition of Differential Diagnosis of TCM Symptoms,removing duplication and carrying out synonym integration.Then,a top-down approach is used to determine the classification framework,clustering extracted attribute values from the bottom up,determining ontology classes,attributes and constraints,editing tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation ontology by Protégé.Finally,representing instances in the form of code combination of attributes by information classification and coding technology,and building instance library.Extracting related data in TCM electronic medical records that is from four Class ? Grade ? Hospitals in recent years,and to verify the integrity of the ontology.Developing tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation standardization aided system based on ontology.Results:According to the classification framework and the clustering results,dividing into ontology class.There are 14 tongue manifestation class properties and 5 pulse manifestation class properties,existing synonymy,hyponymy between tongue and tongue,so is the pulse.Encodings is composed of fixed-length main code and indefinite length complement code.Tongue manifestation encoding involves 13 aspects of ontology classes and attributes,pulse manifestation encoding involves ontology classes and attributes of 3 aspects,having constructed the ontology instance library.The diagnostic informations of tongue and pulse are verified,the total success rate of tongue was 99.19%,and the total success rate was of pulse 99.52%.The system can provide users with standardized tongue or pulse diagnostic informations and disease information,and assist users to collect the tongue manifestation or pulse manifestation.It also can encode tongue or pulse diagnostic informations and export relevant data,which can be used in data preprocessing.Conclusion:The tongue manifestation or pulse manifestation ontology can regulate the expression of its diagnostic informations.It has integrity and meets the clinical demand,and promotes the datamation and structing of tongue or pulse informations.In addition,this research is helpful to promote the application of standards and improve the quality of diagnostic information in TCM electronic medical records.However,the attribute system should be further improved,and the specification part of tongue manifestation and pulse manifestation in the software will be made in the form of input method for convenience of the use.
