With the rapid development of virtual reality(VR)technology,virtual reality technology is gradually introduced in the process of the development of ski simulator system.Ski simulator is a simulation device which can simulate the skiing action correctly,it can not only train the skiers,shorten the training cycle,but also popularize the winter sports with the new means of communication.At present,most of the ski simulators in China only stay in the simple mechanical movement,which has many problems,such as complex operation,short service life and poor user experience.Virtual reality technology provides a new solution for ski simulation platform.This paper studies the ski simulator system based on the virtual reality technology,according to the characteristics and practical application of the ski simulator.The results of this research have great value for practical application.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.This paper studies the design principles and technical indexes of ski simulator,Combined with virtual reality technology,determines the overall design scheme of ski simulator,and proposes a ski simulator system with three degrees of freedom parallel mechanism as the main hardware platform.The structure has the advantages of good rigidity,easy control and good flexibility.It can simulate the function of ski action.2.This paper analyzes the structure of the three DOF motion platform,establishes the mathematical model of moving platform by means of spatial attitude angle representation and derives the inverse kinematics formula.The motion of the platform is realized by changing the length of the three supporting rods,and the simulation results show that the platform can be used to realize the pitching,rolling and vertical lifting posture.3.This paper studies the control characteristics of the servo drive system of electric cylinder,and establishes a relatively simple mathematical model for the selected motor and the actuator,uses the PID algorithm to control the system and carries out the simulation on the platform with three degrees of freedom.The simulation results show that the servo drive system has good control performance.4.Using the idea of modularization,designs the software architecture of the ski simulator control system,including the design of communication interface with VR host computer,the control system is divided into the motor setting module,motor control module,sensor data module,motor state module,moving shaft real-time position module,communication data module and data recording module.The test results show that the control system has perfect function,friendly interface and human-computer interaction.In addition,in order to verify the correctness of ski simulator system,the calibration experiments are carried out on gravity sensor and servo drive system,and the experimental results show that the equipment meets the requirements of accuracy and response speed;Combined with the virtual scene system,tests the system and the results of the test show that the ski simulator system has a good skiing experience,which meets the design requirements and has been successfully put into use in the national science and technology museum.
