Research Of The Archival Dualistic Value Orientation In The Chinese Traditional Villages Archival Practice

Chinese Traditional Villages,with rich historical and cultural heritages,show the form of social organization of Chinese agricultural civilization from the soil.Under the impact of urbanization process,their production modes,economic structures,managing organizations and cultural believes are transforming and changing,as the same time as many villages have also faced the threat of the decline and demise.In order to protect the traditional resources,varieties of archival practice on Chinese Traditional Villages,which are represented by the Rural Memory Project,Chinese Traditional Villages Protection Project and Traditional Villages Archival Humanities,have been carried out.Archival Dualistic Value is a Chinese local archival theory.It was born in the archival behavior as a logical origin throughout the Chinese archival cause,and ultimately returns to the reality of the continuous development of archival practice to interpret archival management function and social significance,highlighting its theoretical tension and universal approach.Therefore,this paper,from the perspective of the Archival Dualistic Value,comprehensively analyses the archival dualistic value in the Traditional Villages archival practice.Overall,a common and outstanding point in Chinese Traditional Villages archival practice is instrument expansion,with positive deconstructionism and passionate humanities,to regard archive as a depended purposive control instrument,ignoring the normal and routine archival behavior and the participation of villages themselves.On the other hand,archival practice generally performs utilization of archival information resources more than the openness and social sharing.The right to know and information right of the traditional villages members inside and social public cannot be effectively protected.The main reasons are inadequate attention on the Traditional Villages substance,weak consciousness on the information openness and right-responsibilitie imbalance of behavior subjects.The latter lack boils down to the information open consciousness,and the former loss will shake the the sustained and healthy development of Traditional Villages archival practice.It is not consistent with the archival dualistic value realization of "procedural justice",which calls for return to the normal and usual archival behavior practice.In this regard,the paper,on the basis of the Archival Dualistic Value of "elliptic phenomenon" model,attempts to construct a comprehensive,sustained Chinese Traditional Villages archival practice system.In this system,national government departments,Traditional Villages themselves,social cultural scholars and professional archival departments and archivists perform their responsibilities and cooperate mutually.In particular,what is emphasized is that the outsider won't replace the traditional Villages themselves in the archival practice.Professional archival departments and archivists must play the main dynamic subject role as the "archives counselor" to promote the traditional villages members' archival consciousness and capacity,according to their own image features,continuation modes and development purpose.At the same time,archival information must be opened wider,deeper and more timely to achieve social sharing.These meets the core concept of archival cause modernization requirements about social responsibility and archival information public service,as well as also in line with the voice of the social and community co-construction and sharing archives in the post-custodial era.
