In addition to the requirements of higher and higher specifications,modern electronic communication system needs smaller and smaller volume,lower and lower power consumption and the function of software reconfiguration.Based on the advanced electronics technology nowadays,this is realizable.This paper introduces a miniaturization low-power design and implementations of a software radio platform.On the platform,RF channel is based on AD9364,which integrates frequency synthesizer,LNA,filters,AD and DA.The digital part is based on Z-7020,which integrates ARM,FPGA and all kinds of interface resources.Compared with the traditional design methods of electronic systems with separated mixer,filter,ARM,LNA,FPGA and so on,the product volume and weight are greatly reduced.At the same time,all kinds of high efficiency DC-DC power supply are used in the power management circuits;the power consumption is largely reduced as a result.Combined with low power consumption design on other functional circuits,we achieve a very low power consumption design at the platform.With the integrated design method of digital circuits and analog circuits,volume and power consumption of the product are greatly reduced.The analog and digital circuits have distinct characters respectively.For example,there are high level voltage,high threshold,and rich harmonics in the digital signals,but analog signals require high purity and are sensitive to interference.The means of D/A partition,spatial isolation,ground isolation and other electromagnetic compatibility design method are taken to handle the conflicts of the analog digital signal mixed design.We achieved the target of small size,low power consumption and light weight design at last,and at the same time,the interference problem caused by the mixed design is resolved.This issue finally achieve a software radio platform which cover most of the commonly used radio frequency 100MHz~2200MHz,transmit 2W power,and has rich programmable resources,with total power consumption of 6.5W and total volume of 179mm×78mm In×31mm.Particularly,the platform parameters and signal processing algorithms can be changed by reprogramming,so as to achieve the purpose of specialized application.As in an actual application,the platform is set to QPSK modulation,baseband bandwidth 5MHz,antenna gain 15 dB,and it achieved 20 km distance transfer of voice,data and standard definition video.This paper summarizes a method of miniaturization and low power design of electronic communication system.For dedicated communication products research and development,it can be implemented on the platform to verify the functions and specifications,so rapid product development cycle,lower cost and lower develop risk are achieved.For common radio electronic products development,the specifications analysis and design method might be worth learning.
