While technology keeps growing, UHD/4K videos shows a trend to replace High Definition (HD) video in movie market. To ensure high quality UHD/4K video can be transmit in a efficient way, have to make sure new video compression method can handle four times of HD video data, and have same video quality within same bandwidth within almost the same transfer time compare with HD video.In this paper, the first part introduces the format of original video of movie industry, and the format of High Definition Blue Ray which is popular for High definition movie distribution currently. Then compare H.265 and the other video compression method, to introduce the advantage and disadvantage of H.265, explains why H.265 is necessary for this project. In chapter 3, introduces popular quality evaluation methods for video compression. In chapter 4, based on the actual needs of this company. design H.265 video player hardware. In chapter 5,define basic requirement for encode and decode software, introduce the encode and decode software developed by outsourcing team. In Chapter 6, test for overall compress and decode software/hardware. After fixing several bugs, the test result shows that H.265 overall software and hardware system meets the requirement and spec of this project, and is advanced than H.264 and the other H.265 solution on the market.
