Design And Implementation Of B/S-Based University Research Project Information Management System

With China's social development and the economic globalization, the proportion of research funding in the total amount of Universities' funds is increasing. Previous research management model has been far from meeting the needs under the new situation of the development of Science Research Management. With the improvement in information technology, establishing university research management information system via the web and information technology means has become an inevitable trend.Based on the management processes of longitudinal, transverse project and the research information management needs of project leaders, this paper summarizes the eight design goals of this system. The intended users of this system is classified as system administrators, research management department and project leader. To achieve this design goal, the system functional requirements analysis and function design, the system non-functional requirements analysis is done. This paper summarizes the eight big functions combining with the design goal. And the main function is summarized as personal information management, longitudinal project management, transverse project management, longitudinal project funds management, transverse project funds management, etc. It also summarizes use case diagram of the three types of system users.Based on the needs analysis and functional design, B / S three-tier architecture model is used for designing the system overall architecture in the system-level design. System module is divided into seven modules in detail, including integrated office module, longitudinal project management module, transverse project management module, scientific research management module, award-winning management module and so on. The main operation, realizable flow chart, the operation timing chart of each module are described. Finally, the database design of this system is divided into database conception structure design and data sheet design. Based on user needs, the system designs eight information entity and summarizes the overall system E-R diagram. This system designs the corresponding data table for each information entity.Based on B/S model, Java Script, SQL Server2005, the university research project information management system is achieved. The interface and implementation code of main function modules are given. The development and design of this system will achieve differentiated, meticulous research project management. And it can improve the efficiency of university research management department.
