Traveling wave tube (TWT) is a microwave device that amplifies high frequency signal by the interaction between the electron date and the microwave. As the key component of the date transmitter on the satellite, the electrical performance indexes of the domestic space traveling wave tube is close to the level of similar foreign products, but there is still a certain gap in the reliability aspect. Industrial engineering is in the primary stage in China, and it has becomed an effective way to improve the efficiency and quality of all walks of life. But it's not widely applied in the traveling wave tube production.Space traveling wave tube reliability of various factors were analyzed in this thesis. To improve Space TWT's reliability as the ultimate goal, industrial engineering is applied theory in traveling wave tube production, through the fishbone diagram analysis, FMEA, to detect the problems of traveling wave tube existing in the production process, and find the methods to solve these problems. Firstly, this thesis emphatically analyzes the thermal factors influencing traveling wave tube reliability and application modern optimization method of the model with the theoretical calculation, using the Pro/E software to optimize parameters of space traveling wave tube radiating structure, then use ANSYS software to design model of thermal analysis and structure analysis, afterwards, according to the existing technological level and assembly feasibility of the model is analyzed, the feasibility analysis model is developed and applied to a certain type of space traveling wave tube as prototype design. With completing parts processing of physical and product assembly, the final products at the beginning of the type is formed. The influence of human factors on reliability is studied, and the environment is improved and optimized by using human factors engineering knowledge. In the assembly process, through the process analysis, action research and other industrial engineering methods and the process flow of the system is optimized. Finally, the reliability test of the product is completed. Through the data analysis, verify the quality and reliability of the improved method is realized.Based on the research work of this thesis, the industrial engineering method is applied to the production management of the space traveling wave tube, which can improve the reliability of the traveling wave tube. The reference to optimize the structure of other space traveling wave tube substrate is provided, the process flow and the optimization of assembly are also applicable to other project of traveling wave tube and the whole production line.
