Traveling wave tube(TWT) is a kind of broad-band, high powerh,high gain microwave millimeter wave amplifiers. They are widely used in communication, electronic warfare, rader system and microwave directional power weapon, taking an irreplaceable role in modern military electronic equipments and communication. However, the manufacture process of TWT is so complicated that many kinds of subject, such as electron optics, magnetics, cathode electronics, microwave electronics, electronmagnetic fields theory, material science, mechanics and calorifics are involved in. With developments and applications of computers, the technologies on TWT have been greatly improved so that the design abilities are enhanced, production period is reduced, hardware experimentes are decreased, the performance is improved , and the intrinsic erperiences are solidified. Now CAD technology has become a main researcher tool in TWT's research and manufacture.With the rapidly developing of computer,and the simulation software became grown up,exploiting CAD Intergrated Environment became a international current. MWT's CAD is becoming a effective means in developing new tide of MWT's structure. However, MWT's CAD is an emphases item in pre-reseacher project of Equipment Ministry. UESTC is a stress unit in the studing MWT's CAD,exploitured the software——"CAD Integrated Environment of Wide Band Power TWT"software(TWTCAD). As a main researcher in the project, I main studied systematic structure,design method,software standard of MWT's CAD,testing and programming,and so on. In ChapterⅠ, introduce the advance, problem and future of microwave tube CAD technology. Numeriacal methods of microwave tube CAD are described. Electromagnetism(EM) analyzing software are enumerated. The CAD software of microwave tube component are character. MMACE project of Ameriaca and TWTCAD project of China are presented.In ChapterⅡ, surrounded some software techniques in software engineering, such as systematic structure,design method,exploiture process,systematic integrated and software reengineering. Analyzed the difficulty and means in the system integrated.
