Clutter suppression is an important driving force for the development of radar technology, which is mainly used to suppress various kinds of moving or stationary clutter around the moving target. It helps to reserve the target signal and improve the detection capability of radar to moving target. Starting from the realistic problem of small target and stealth target detection in the air defense of our country, this paper reviews all the signal processing methods of ground to air warning radar focusing on the core issue of clutter suppression. On this basis, this paper further studies the detection before tracking algorithm based on dynamic programing and signal to clutter ratio improvement method. Finally, system simulation software of ground warning radar is designed.The main work is as follows:First of all, we introduce the research background and significance of this paper, development status of ground warning radar and the development of signal processing techniques for clutter suppression.Secondly, we elaborate several classical signal processing methods in detail, including MTI, MTD, CFAR and clutter detection. Subsequently, we give the signal processing flow of ground warning radar.Thirdly, we firstly introduce the DP-TBD algorithm and then propose an improved algorithm, which is based on the improvement of three adjacent frames to accumulate two frames to further improve the signal to noise ratio. In the threshold decision, we regard the maximum value of the local maximum of the objective function as the threshold. Simulation results show that this algorithm can further improve the signal to noise ratio and reduce the number of false targets.Fourthly, in view of the problem of moving target detection in signal related clutter, we study the MTD radar model based on slow time domain pulse encoding and discuss the feasibility of SCNR improvement. Then, we propose a pulse encoding optimization design criteria for the improvement of SCNR and give a simplified method for optimization problem. Finally, we present a design method based on the gradient of the encoding aiming at the cone constrained quadratic programming problem. And the final results show that slow time domain encoding optimization can effectively improve the SCNR of the echo and the algorithm has the advantage of low computational complexity.Finally, we introduce the design idea and flow chart of the ground warning radar system simulation software. Then, we make a detailed description of the software, including the main interface, functions and function interface. In the end, we analyse the software simulation results.
