Road Network Model is an important component of environment models in both agent-based artificial society simulation and Computer Generated Forces simulation; it is not only the fundamental support of the computing services such as environmental perception, judgment and decision, route planning, but also the key factor which influences and restricts the performance and the reliability of the simulation models. Therefore, road network models need not only descript the topology and features of road network accurately and comprehensively, but also support data information querying and other computing serves well. However, the research on computing service-oriented road network modeling methods nowadays is limited in our country, while traditional road network modeling methods couldn't well meet the demand of agent-based artificial society simulation and Computer Generated Forces simulation.Focusing on solve the problems mentioned above, this thesis firstly summarized the advantages, shortcomings and ranges of applications of the different road network modeling methods in different domains; secondly, for meet the demands of agent-based artificial society simulation and Computer Generated Forces simulation, an computing service-oriented road network modeling method was proposed by referring to synthetic environment data representation and interchanges specification(SEDRIS); thirdly, this thesis studied on the methods of road features information querying, road edges addition and removing, models modifying, road network topology extracting and shortest path finding and so on based on the road network models established by the method proposed above; lastly, this thesis established the road network models with testing and verifying according to the demands of agent-based artificial society simulation and Computer Generated Forces simulation.Test study indicates that the road network model established by computing service-oriented road network modeling methods which proposed by this thesis could well meet the demands of agent-based artificial society simulation and Computer Generated Forces simulation. Meanwhile, it also has many favorable characters in storage efficiency, reusability, comprehensiveness, flexibility and expansibility and so on.
