Dynamic Terrain Simulation pays attention to interact of dynamic terrain and military system. It influences process and result of combat simulation directly, and it can improves fidelity and credibility of simulation. With the dynamic terrain Modeling and Simulation(M&S) as its topic, the interoperability, reusability and creditability as its leitmotiv, this thesis studies the creditability, interoperability, consistency, dynamicity, distribution and reusability of data, model and simulation in dynamic terrain M&S.First of all, attaching to the Conceptual Reference Model of Synthetic Natural Environment, the thesis presents the principle and concept of Dynamic Terrain Simulation. Based on configure of database and data distribution, it also discussed the functional frame and run time frame. Time consistency and polymorphism consistency are two critical technologies in Dynamic Terrain Simulation. The thesis realized time consistency and sucessed in designing protocol of simulation by using ECN resulting from references to Synthetic Theater Of War and Environment Federation and time management of HLA, it also discussed SEDRIS and resolved polymorphism consistency by using STF as the authority database.A method for designing model of dynamic terrain and computing abstract and polygonal data was devised, and by means of the method we also designed three dynamic terrain objects. Finally, we realized a federation including Dynamic Terrain Simulation server federate, Computer Generated Forces federate and display federate with simulation protocol and STF.The Dynamic Terrain Simulation federation is satisfied with combat simulation that has certain requirement for dynamic terrain. Affording application interference for the consumer, it can be reused in some combat simulation.
