With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, various kinds of communication equipments are used in communication systems. The demand for speeding of wireless data transmission is getting higher and higher, resulting in the sharp increasing in demand for bandwidth. However, the band resource in wireless communication systems is limited..In this case, how to enhance the communication capacity of the spectrum is an important subject. Orbital angular momentum(OAM) is considered as a kind of effective method to enhance the communication capacity. OAM has greatly potential to improve the communication capacity.In this paper, new types of antenna for generating OAM waves are proposed. Firstly, three kinds of phased antenna that generate OAM waves based on phased antenna array are proposed. They are circular patch antenna, slot antenna array and patch monopole antenna array, respectively. These three kinds of antenna are analysis with CST software. These three kinds of antenna can generate OAM waves in the simulation results. Then, the feeding system for the phased antenna is designed. When an input excitation is fed to the feeding system, eight output signals can be gotten. These eight output signals are with the same amplitude but a successive phase shift. The feeding system and three kinds of phased antenna that can generate OAM waves are connected. The simulation results of these three kinds of antenna system are compared in one figure. Then the final optimal kind of antenna system is chosen to generate OAM waves.Lastly, according to the simulation results of patch monopole antenna system, the PCB board of the antenna system is designed. The fabricated antenna system is using the PCB board, and the test is done in the microwave darkroom. Simulation data are tested to prove the effectiveness of the proposed antenna that can indeed produce OAM beam. Patch monopole antenna system is a kind of antenna which have simple structure and good performance that can generate OAM.
