Internet of Things(IoT) is also recognized as ‘Internet that connects things', and in recent years, its relevant access technology has been rapidly developing with the growing attention of research institutes and companies both at home and abroad. It is of great importance that IoT technology is developed and applied both industrially and in life. With the amount of the access devices such as optical sensor and IR remote controller increases, the sensing layer of Io T is stepping in to a generation of large quantities of access equipment. Combining IPv6 and access technology of the sensing layer of IoT and making use of the technological advantages of Next Generation Internet can provide solutions for the address, management and maintenance of these access equipment, also realize a perfect connection between IoT and the Internet. This essay mainly focuses on the hardware access technology related to the sensing layer of IoT and IPv6. Firstly, by researching the Io T IPv6 access technology and protocol stack, the architecture of the IPv6 sensing layer of IoT has been designed in accord with the requirements of equipment such as optical sensor and IR remote controller. Secondly, in regard to the hardware realization of the architecture, 2.4GHz wireless communication technology has been adopted to the design of the core hardware of the IPv6 sensing layer of IoT with strong generality, and the features of the hardware have been assessed. Lastly, as for application, regarding of two scenes, Smart City and Smart eHome, the architecture of the access system has been designed. Meanwhile, in combination with the core hardware of the IPv6 sensing layer of IoT, equipment such as the IPv6 access terminals of Smart City sensors, the IR remote control terminals of Smart eHome, the sensing terminals of Smart eHome have been designed, placed and debugged in the IPv6 environment of the National Engineering Laboratory of Next Generation Internet Access System.
