With the continuing development of electronic science and technology, the demand for target tracking is also increasing. Target tracking technology has been widely used in military and civilian fields. Passive location and tracking has been widely researched and paid attention because of the good concealment. TDOA is one of common passive location technologies and has become the most widely used passive location technology, because it has high positioning accuracy, strong networking capability, strong resistance to strike capability etc. Passive time difference location technology is combined with maneuvering target tracking algorithm in this paper, and the main research is maneuvering target tracking algorithm based on passive time difference location.Because the system equation is nonlinear in passive time difference location tracking system, so the tracking algorithms solve the problems of nonlinear filtering mainly. IMM-EKF and IMM-UKF had been applied to it, and IMM-UKF has a higher tracking precision. But actually in the process of tracking, target will subject to complicated non-Gaussian noise. The above two algorithms are difficult to solve non-Gaussian noise. Aimed at non-Gaussian filtering problem in the process of radar maneuvering target tracking, IMM – PF is applied to maneuvering target tracking algorithm based on passive time difference location in this paper. The MATLAB simulation experiment by comparing IMM-UKF method, proved the superiority of IMM-PF.Interacting multiple model(IMM) algorithm can improve the accuracy to use more models, but the performance will decline if too many models are used due to redundant “competition” from the “unnecessary” models. Aiming at this problem, interacting multiple model Algorithm is improved further in this paper, and modular interacting multiple model-based on extended Viterbi algorithm is proposed, namely MIMMEV. MIMMEV can effectively solve the above problem, and it has certain practical application value in dealing with the radar maneuvering target tracking problem.
