With the advent of the mobile Internet era and high density of communications network coverage, smart phones become increasingly popular, and development of all kinds of mobile client has skyrocketed. Mobile Client as a new medium plays a crucial role in people’s daily life. In the industry background of wisdom travels, traditional tours have been establishing their own tourist class mobile client, also named tourist class APP in response to the "Internet +" development slogan. Tourist class mobile client is a new media platform that used in posting travel information and providing online services, and closely relates to people’s lives. In addition, tourist class mobile client could also be viewed as a new channel of communications and interactions between traditional tours and the public.Mobile phone client is a derivative product from new media environment that conforms with new communication environment. As a new media, mobile phone client should necessarily have some characteristics, such as customer orientation, provide customer-required content and functionality, establish a highly interactive platform. Because of excessive tourist APP products in competitive market currently, user experience will be an important indicator of product’s success. There are neither numerable academic studies about tourist APP user experience nor intensive research, and study of this subject is basically a blank page. Consider big differences between tourism APP and others in product’s target and functionality, user demand and interactivity and so on, studies on tourist APP still have its own academic values.The Ctrip is Chinese largest online comprehensive travel service company that owns a large user bases. Numbers of download and utilization rates of Ctrip APP already rank the first in the tourist mobile clients. Therefore, this dissertation chooses Ctrip APP as study object and integrates journalism, psychology, art and design and other disciplines of knowledge into study. In addition, five elements of user experience proposed by American scholar “Jesse James Garrett” would be integrated framework of dissertation. Studies of Ctrip APP user experience are under-investigated through user interviews and questionnaires and qualitative and quantitative form in five layers, including strategic layer, border layer, structure layer, presentation layer and frame layer. This dissertation has explained a few problems existed with Ctrip APP and proposed corresponding solutions. At the same time, dissertation proposed tentative plans to APP improvement includes explanation function in scenic spot, visualization technology, panoramic visual virtual tour and so forth based on user experience and demands. Wish the dissertation could provide a few references for development and optimization of Ctrip and other travel APPs in future.
