Artillery angular velocity is an important criterion to assess the performance parametes of artillery control system. To deal the existing problems, in which traditional artillery is of low accuracy and complex operation, a measurement method based on CCD were studied. The study consists of several aspects below:1. Analyzed the running speed of artillery angular velocity measurement systemthe experimental environment's effect on measurement error, on the basis of the analysis propose an artillery angular velocity measurement method based on CCD imaging. System block diagram and the principle of measurement are given in the paper.2. A cross target coordinate recognition method based on template matching is proposed to deal with the image of the CCD camera, which is also verified in Matlab. And a modified Gaussian fitting algorithm is adopted to calculate the center position of the laser spot in the image, whose feasibility is also verified in Matlab.3. Designed a FPGA-based high-speed image acquisition and processing hardware platform, which adopts Camera Link interface. The CCD camera driver, getting BD/GPS time information, image addition and Camera Link interface driver are written with Verilog language; The image preprocessing and information recognizing, artillery angular velocity calculating are achieved in VC++;4. A line range experiments is done on the artillery angular velocity measurement system, experimental results are given to verify the feasibility of the system.
