Because of its high transmission efficiency, stable transmission ratio, high carrying capacity, bevel gear transmission is widely applied in the industrial field,such as automobile and machine tool. Transmission error is one of the important items to measure the gear pair transmission quality, and is used to evaluate the transmission stability. The vibration and noise of gear has relationship with transmission stability. The measurement of bevel gear pair transmission error, vibration or noise can quantitatively evaluate the transmission quality of itself. However, the equipment of quality detection of bevel gear pair transmission are mostly dependent on import, domestic bevel gear single-flank measurement software is not so easy-to-use, in terms of function and accuracy of measurement. This paper developed a software of bevel gear pair single-flank measurement which is multi-functional, good stability and easy-to-use on the basis of gear geometry and performance tester. The main contents are as follows:(1) Researched the measurement principle of transmission error of bevel gear, analysed the tangential composite error and tooth to tooth tangential composite error of gear pair, and then judge the accuracy grade. The criteria of accuracy evaluation are according to the DIN3965 and GB11365. The frequency spectrum, long wave and short wave components of the transmission error is then obtained after the fast Fourier transform and gaussian filtering to transmission error curve.(2) Introduced the optimization method of best mounting distance. The bevel gear pair has the best transmission quality and the transmission error has the best measurement results as it mounted at the best distance.(3) Introduced the SPC statistical analysis method to evaluate and monitor the process by tangential composite error and tooth to tooth tangential composite error.(4) Design the architecture of functional model?object model and dynamic model of the measurement and control software for single-flank measurement of bevel gear. The main interface of the software is also designed. The test cases is used to test of the main module of the software.(5) Introduced the experiment of the software on testing the bevel gear pair, which including the experiment of transmission error measurement, adjusting of mounting distance, SPC statistical analysis and repeatability experiments. The experiments verified the measurement principle, and the stability of the software.
