As accelerating the globalization of China, now English is widely used in various circles of society and the number of English learners increases rapidly especially for academic purposes. The English abstract comes to a mandatory requirement for two decades for easier international academic communication. In contrast, the absence of an elegant review of English persists. Grammatical errors and spelling mistakes are common for non-English Majors as the language barrier.Natural language processing makes a huge step recently as the fast development of computer science. Due to the complexity of the language, there are still no one tailored software for Chinese English learners. In this thesis project, we contributed to an intelligent marking system which is based on writing features of Chinese speakers' English abstracts. This system includes automatic marking, spelling and grammar checking. To fulfill such demands, natural language processing is introduced. This thesis' s work mainly consists of three sections. Chinese speakers' writing features extraction and modeling are presented in the first section. The second section introduces the grammar checking algorithm which is based on POS tagging technology. A web-based system, which can manage and expand the rules is shown in the third section. The final test shows that this system is better compared to 1Checker, Microsoft word, NounPlus and other grammar checker.
