With the growing number of surveillance cameras, the surveillance video has become a crucial way to provide clues for criminal cases, which puts video- based monitoring highly valued in criminal detection. However, due to the limit of current operations on monitor video such as artificial watching and tagging, the efficiency is too low to meet the demands in reality. So we need a standardized video image detection system for analysis and judgment.Moving object detection and tracking is the key foundation of the video image detection system, and its main research direction is the method of extracting the motion change region from the image series of video frames. The advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm will directly affect the other functions of video image detection system. So this paper focuses on the detection and tracking of moving objects.The main contents and innovations are as following:1. The detection of moving objects is realized. This paper summarizes and analyzes several commonly used moving object detection methods, and compares the advantages and disadvantages of several methods. Based on this, this paper proposes a new algorithm based on background subtraction and frame difference method, This algorithm not only optimizes the background, but also through it,the extraction of the moving objects achieve good results.2. The tracking of moving objects is realized. Aiming at the deficiency of the initial retrieval window in the candidate target model of mean-shift algorithm, a new detection window will produce as the retrieval window of mean-shift algorithm by weighting the window of kalman filter and extracted window of three image difference methods. At the same time, the bandwidth of kernel function and the arget model are updated. Experiments show that the optimization algorithm has been significantly improved after the detection of moving object, the robustness of the algorithm has been enhanced.3. The design and implementation of image detection system is completed. According to the algorithm of detection and tracking of moving objects in this paper, the algorithm of detecting and tracking moving objects in video image detection system is optimized. In this paper, we focus on the implementation of detection and tracking of moving objects. On the other functions of the image detection system, this paper also made a brief introduction.
