With the development of infrared detection technology, infrared detector has been widely applied in military, medicine, agriculture, security and other fields. To solve the existing problems such as dark current, low resolution and complicate readout method of infrared detector by electrical readout, an all optical readout based on semiconductor quantum dot was adopted in this paper. The research focused on the theory of all optical readout and design method of quantum dot. Under the all optical readout, the optical transition in intersubband has an effect on the optical properties of interband, and it is potential to realize mid-infrared imaging conversion to near infrared imaging and improve the resolution and operation temperature.The main research work of this thesis:(1) Study the status and development at home and abroad of the infrared detector, and the scientific and technical problems. Aiming at high requirements of infrared detector, the all optical readout method based on semiconductor quantum dot was adopted.(2) We explored the principle of all optical modulation deeply in theory, and exploited the lens model based on semiconductor quantum dots. The validity of the quantum dot theory model is verified by numerical simulation. Study and comparison of the particle swarm optimization algorithm and genetic algorithm were carried out.(3) Combined the theoretical model with the particle swarm optimization algorithm and genetic algorithm, this paper designed a quantum dot which can response to the visible light with center wavelength 632.8 nm and the mid-infrared with center wavelength 4.6 ?m, respectively. We were focal on the influence of doping concentration and intersubband radiation frequency on the optical properties of interband.(4) The skeleton of the optical readout system based on semiconductor quantum dots is proposed, and the corresponding experimental platform of all-optical modulation system is built.(5) Summarize the research work of this paper, and put forward the improvement program of the all-optical modulation system based on semiconductor quantum dots.
