In communications engineering construction, the iron tower is used to support and elevate the antenna equipment for expanding the coverage of communication service, so the safe capability of tower structure directly to the quality of the whole communication network. The construction of the iron tower strictly follow the relevant provisions during the design, manufacture, erection period, however, the galvanized layer of tower will be exfoliated and corroded with time, which leading to the decrease of tower's load capacity and seriously affecting safety of iron tower. In addition, due to frequently suffering from harsh natural environment, the performance of Antenna System installed on the tower will be slow, which is bound to have a serious impact on the quality of network communications. In view of the above reasons, it is necessary to develop a terminal, which can effectively monitor base station and Antenna System, also provide real-time alarm.The portable terminal equipment monitoring communication base station and Antenna System uses ARM+LINUX as the development platform. In the aspect of hardware, AM335xS industrial board is taken as control core, FBG and OCT constitute sensor network, quantities is transmitted to terminal through active optical cable. After demodulating the reflection of Prague wavelength, FBG demodulator communicates with AM335xS through Ethernet interface. AD module samples the feedback signal of optical CT and transfers the results to AM335xS through SPI. In the aspect of software, works include programming the data interface and device driver; investigating multi-level data management and storage mechanism based on Linux shared memory, SQLite database, static file; designing a beautiful graphic system with powerful functions and alarming mechanism based on GSM. Finally, the monitoring terminal equipment integrates the data collection, storage, display and alarm.The monitoring terminal discussed in this paper makes fiber sensors as environment parameter gathering front-end. Compared with traditional sensors, fiber sensors have a series of advantages, such as high reliability, anti-corrosion, anti-electromagnetic interference and easy to realize long-distance distributed sensoring. In addition, the monitoring terminal has perfect functions including independent on/off data acquisition, a variety of data real-time display, history data query, setting upper and lower limit for sensors, event log query, sensor fault self-detection and fixed timing alarm.
