Liang Zhangju(1775-1849), his courtesy name was Hong Zhong, or Chai Lin, or Zhi Lin, his pseudonym was Tui An in his late years. He was born in Changle, Fujian Province. Liang Zhangju undertook the governor of Guangxi from Daoguang sixteenth(1836) April to Daoguang twentieth first(1841) March leap. In the year of Daoguang seventeenth(1837), he fixed the Bronze Drum Tower in office of governor and organized an activity of writing poetry for Bronze Drum. Liang Zhangju collected the poetry written in the activity, added Jing Gong's Recordation of Bronze Drum, Yuan Hong's Bronze Drum Fu, Xie's and Qian's Songs of Bronze Drum, Liang Zhangju compiled all those poetry in one book, Lv Huang wrote preamble for the book, Liang Zhangju wrote a Late Recordation of Bronze Drum. He named the book as Poetry of Bronze Drum, and the book became the biggest poetry of Bronze Drum.The poems in Poetry of Bronze Drum write about Bronze Drum's history, shape, voice, value, power and effect, so the research on Poetry of Bronze Drum is helpful to explore the Bronze Drum's culture in Guangxi, and the research will provide rich historical source for studying local culture of Guangxi. And this paper makes collation an annotation for Poetry of Bronze Drum, bases on the original, and strives to be researched and quoted easily and precisely. Bronze Drum is a cultural representative of Guangxi; it connects people in Guangxi from ancient times to the present. So study about Liang Zhangju and Poetry of Bronze Drum compiled by him would be a very meaningful thing.
