With the acceleration of social information process, digital interface has been widely used in various software systems. To a large extent, efficiency and accuracy of the information which users get from digital interface depend on their cognition. Therefore, studying users'cognitive behavior can contribute to improve operating performance and user experience. Event-related potential (ERP) technique is a window for observing brain cognitive activity, which can objectively reflect cognitive process of human brain. Furthermore, source localization analysis is to find the corresponding neural generators of specific cognitive activity in human brain. This paper is aimed at revealing digital interface information cognitive processing mechanism through ERP experiments and source localization analysis to a certain extent.This paper takes digital interface information cognitive process as the main line, and interface elements play the role of breakthrough point. Cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience are used as the theoretical basis. Multidimensional interpretation and analysis of digital interface information cognition are achieved from "brain-cognition-behavior" level, through the experimental study of typical cognition stages using ERP technique and source localization method. In this paper, following work is done:(1) Analyze ERP principle, structure and function of human brain and source localization method. Summarize typical ERP components and cognitive processing stage relative to each one.(2) Research on the cognitive processing of digital interface information, focusing on the early cognitive stage of selective attention and the later stage of semantic processing, in order to dig out potential experimental research working points.(3) Design and conduct ERP experiments combining interface elements with selective attention and semantic processing of digital interface information, extract ERP components and find out attentional cognitive difference between the two coding elements of color and shape as well as semantic cognitive difference among icons with different design dimensions.(4) Source localization analysis on the ERP components extracted from experiments to figure out corresponding neural generators in the brain, converting from time orientation to spatial localization, which realizes the temporal-spatial data matching of information cognition.
