With the popularity and extensive application of the Internet in the 21 st century,one brand-new "instant messaging software" has become the most frequently-used and popular communication tool.It is increasingly mature with the rapid development of information technology.It not only provides a new method of interpersonal communication,facilitates the speed of communication,reduces the cost of communication and increases the efficiency of communication,but also organically links people together by extending the reach from mere acquaintances to distant and strange people.Emotional design is a major type of design within intangible design and a design trend most popular and recognized today.Emotional design refers to a design during which emotional experiences are acquired.For the purpose of conventional emotional design,things are understood and analyzed from three perspectives,i.e.profile emotion,color emotion and material texture emotion.Most domestic and overseas researches probe into the emotional design of conventional products from the three perspectives above today.As instant messaging software relies on an open platform of the Internet and is an intangible design,its special features distinguish it from conventional products in terms of emotional embedding.By focusing on the emotional design of instant messaging software in intangible design,this research not only clarifies the novel expression mode and value of the emotional design of instant messaging software,but also offers certain reference for the future development of them.The article comprises the following parts according to the logic order: Part 1 is the introduction.Part 2 primarily illustrates the relations between emotional design and intangible design and its construction.Part 3 analyzes the emotional claims of instant messaging software in development and design to prove the necessity of emotional design in the design of instant messaging software.Part 4 analyzes the unique forms of expression of emotional elements in the design of instant messaging software to illustrate the application of emotional design in instant messaging software from the perspectives of interface design,functional application and human-machine interaction.Part 5 analyzes the value of emotional design of instant messaging software to individuals,building groups and cultural exchanges in order to display the bright application prospects of emotional design in instant messaging software.Part 6 is a summary of the general structure and conclusions of the article and the bright prospects of emotional design in instant messaging software.
