After 20 years development of China's Internet industry, PC Internet has tended to be saturated, while the mobile Internet shows a trend of rapid development. Along with the rapid development of 3g/4g network, mobile devices can access the Internet at a faster rate and obtain various services presented by the Internet. Due to the need of internal real-time transfer of all kinds of information, Tianjin airport need an instant messaging software can be applied in the daily work.This thesis summarizes the current development trend of the instant messaging software, lists the characteristics of the popular mobile operating system and the specific requirements of the airport work, and eventually chooses Android as the client implementation of this system platform and openfire as instant messaging server. According to software engineering theory and steps of the development of software system, on the basis of the demand investigation, this thesis makes an effective analysis for user functional requirements and completes the work of client software use case models. Based on use case models that has been made, this thesis detailedly designs the overall architecture adopted by system and structure of the client software. And then, detailedly describe the design process of the key features of the key part. Finally, based on the extensible session model, this thesis has completed implementation work of the instant messaging system based on the Android system. After a black box, white box testing, the registered users log in module of this system, different users for point-to-point messaging function, the client and server interaction function, as well as spare news push plan, etc, are running well.This thesis works mirror mainstream instant messenger software on the market and has developed which meets the demand of software, to fill the gaps that there is no proper communication tools in the airport.This system can effectively solve the problem of Tianjin airport lacking internal communication tool, is now trialing in a small scale in Tianjin airport.After using this system, Users reflect that the efficiency and accuracy of information exchange has improved significantly and obtained the expected effect.
