In order to further improve real-time performance of industrial communication network, many related companies and organizations have merged Ethernet into industrial network, industrial Ethernet is produced. PROFINET is undoubtedly prospective and promising one of industrial Ethernet technology. However, in order to rise powerfully the future challenges about communication, it is very important to how to improve PROFINET real-time performance. This project would do deeply research in two aspects from optimization about PROFINET real-time performance and IO device.Whether the data transmission rate of the transmitter and the receiver can reach the balance state or not directly affects the real-time performance of industrial Ethernet communication. Aiming at this problem, this project proposes a optimization model about PROFINET communication based on Markov algorithm of statistical conditions, and the max rate about sending successfully data is served as the objective function, the sending data rate were optimized. The compared results between the simulation shows that the optimization model is feasible and effective.Currently, the market mainstream communications controller supports that IO device communication cycle time is about 250?s, ERTEC200 P launched recently by SIEMENS supports that IO equipment cycle time is less than 31.25?s. This project designs IO device from two aspects of hardware and software, including detailed circuits design, BSP program and device application design. As traditional equipment still retains the RS-485 or RS-232 interface based on Modbus protocol, so the promotion and application of PROFINET has a certain obstacles. Based on IO device, the project develops the related function about gateway, and realizes seamless connection between Modbus and PROFINET. Finally, RS-485 switching circuit has been designed, and communication test between PROFINET and Modbus has been carried out. The final simulation results shows that IO controller can communicate with IO device through PROFINET, and it is achieved that PROFINET and Modbus protocol conversion and diagnostic alarm function.This project has completed IO device design based on ERTEC200 P and optimization about PROFINET real-time performance, and realized the releated function, this research has a great practical significance to the research of industrial Ethernet technology and application of PROFINET.
