Research And Implementation Of Image Quality Optimization On HEVC Decoder

In recent years, the resolution of video is more and more high, as the popular of HD and UHD videos, the Existing video coding standard of H.264 has been difficult to meet the requirements of coding efficiency about the video which resolution is 1080 P and above now. Therefore, the Video Coding Experts Group and Motion Picture Experts Group formed JCT-VC again, for developing High efficiency video coding(HEVC). HEVC can transmit the approximate quality video with rate reduced by about 50% compared to H.264. The Loop Filter of HEVC can reduce the discontinuity of the reconstruction picture of videos and optimize the quality of picture effectively.The paper analyzed the protocol of HEVC standard, introduced the partitioning method and processing unit of HEVC picture, studied the decoding process of HEVC, and introduced the new features of HEVC.The paper analyzed the cause of blocking effect and the ringing effect of video picture, studied the design method which is Deblock Filter and Sample Adaptive Offset to reduce the effects in HEVC standard. Based on above, the paper put forward the overall framework which include Deblock Filter and Sample Adaptive Offset, implemented the design of hardware acceleration circuit of Loop Filter.The paper built the simulation platform for hardware acceleration circuit of Loop Filter, and simulated the hardware acceleration circuit. The simulation results show the design of Loop Filter implemented the algorithm functions of HEVC standard, and met the performance requirements of HD video processing.The advanced of the paper is that it improves the edge information storage way from based on pixels to based on pixels edge to reduce the requirement of storage space. The difficulty of this paper is that it use the stack operation for Coding Unit and Transform Block to solve the recursive split problem.
