| The progress of science and technology has become the key factor of the economic promotion,society development,the improvement of comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness. Modern science and technology develop rapidly, the average scientific literacy level of publics stands still, so that related improving allows of no delay. Science journal has its unique advantages and plays a important role in science and technology broadcasting. Science News is a comprehensive science journal which is in charged by Chinese Academy of Science, and sponsored by China Science Daily, plays an unique role in science broadcasting. The thesis took 407 articles of the cover columns of Science News from 2010 to 2014 as cases, in order to discover their characteristics in reporting, content and writing style.The cover article column is the depth main part of Science News, it always takes some hot spots of science technology education aspects which also related to economic and science development of the whole society as main topics, makes depth analysis about the intersection events of social, economic and science technology education which are horizontal and longitudinal in-depth. It always consists of several in-depth articles, shows its flexibility, and has a strong expressive force. With diversity and different view angles, it can make more comprehensive and in-depth analysis.According the difference of the objects'properties, the news reports of the cover column can be divided into three types:science and technology events, science and technology achievements and science and technology figures. The characteristics of writing style in these three types are:Science and technology events reports always have scientific interpretation, detailed process descriptions, pay more attention to the science broadcasting, and are good at digging the essence behind the events. Science and technology figures reports are more professional, always highlight the figures, emphasize on "populace". Science and technology achievements reports make the value of achievements prominent, pay more attentions on truthfulness and accuracy, at the same time, and describe the process as a story.The main problems of the cover article column are:1. Mode of picture broadcasting:most are small pictures, less large ones, fragment-presenting in a page and drab.2. Limited types of topic.3. with too little pictures, charts and auxiliary, and so on. The improvement measures:the content aspect, it should dig the essence of science, make use of its advantages, promotes the participation and enthusiasm of front-line science workers on science creation, improve the depth and breadth of topics; the broadcasting aspect:it should enhance the design of pictures, increase the quantity at the same time; more auxiliary; decrease reading difficulty, increase data and charts, makes readers clear at a glance, increase the objectivity of the article. |
