Design And Implementation Of Urban Convenience Store Management System

The overall background of this project is based on the rapid development of China's urbanization, and the increasing demands on the high quality of daily living. This led to the explosive growth of the convenience stores (CVS) in all kinds of communities. From the trends, we might see the prosperity, however the discourse on relevant management system is still rarely found in the market of China, especially there're much further steps to be made on achieving industrial transformation to information technology-based platform before it can be massively expanded to more communities. This paper was written on basis of the investigation to the daily operations of CVS, and my knowledge and practice on information technology-based system implementation. Hope it can be helpful to the future of the urban convenience store development in China.The development of any software system is the first to confirm the user's role, this is because all the actions in the system are triggered by these roles. After understanding of the user needs, a high-level functions and features list can be made as a summary that laid the foundation for the development works. At the same time, non-functional requirements of the system can also be consolidated. Then we are ready to look into the system structure. Firstly, a three-tier architecture is preferred. According to it, some of the classes are to be encapsulated to the bottom tier. While some of them will be put into business tier. Besides, a back-end database is also necessary. The design of data tables are also specified. So that the basic construction of the system is completed. Meanwhile, as the system is designed to be able to launch query requests to a remote HBASE, so the paper also introduces the remote HBASE implementation with approaches and cases. After the completion to all these above, the implementation phase of the system can be kicked off, in which the prototype of the interface, core functions development are specified.Through the works on the system practice, I not only completed this article, but also had deeper level of understanding to urban convenience stores operations. Most importantly, I wish the work has been done would become a reference to those who have interests in the urban convenience store industry as well as its management automation, so that bring more convenience to the practitioners and the consumers, too.
