MIMO(Multi-input Multi-output) radar as a new radar system is proposed at the beginning of 21 st century, which draws on the idea of multi-input multi-output in the field of communication system, and inherits the basic advantages of traditional phased array radar system. MIMO radar is defined as a radar system with multiple antennas to simultaneously transmit mutually orthogonal signals, as well as multiple antennas to receive the radar reflected signals. The application of MIMO technology improves the performance of radar system in target detection, recognition and parameter estimation. Combining with a research project, the work of this thesis is focused on the basic concept of MIMO radar, the echo signal processing technology and the engineering implementation of signal processing based on DSP.Firstly, this thesis describes the basic principles of MIMO radar and the basic techniques of radar signal processing, and the model of radar echo signal is established under the condition of single target and multiple targets. Then based on the model of MIMO radar echo signal and combined with engineering application, the basic process of MIMO radar signal processing is given in the thesis. According to the process, the basic principles of moving target detection(MTD), constant false alarm rate(CFAR) detection, plots centroid processing and monopulse angle measurement are briefly introduced.Secondly, this thesis focuses on the hardware components of the MIMO radar signal processing system and the function of each module, and also discusses the methods of DSP program design and program optimization. This signal processing system as a modular and open system architecture uses TS201 as the basic operation platform of signal processing algorithm. Aiming at function requirements, the hardware resource of the system and the performance of TS201 are analyzed in detail.Finally, this thesis focuses on the design and implementation of MIMO radar signal processing program based on DSP. Based on the analysis of system resources, space requirements and time requirements, the function frame of signal processing software system and algorithm module are constructed, and also the overall implementation scheme of the software and the process of scheduling are designed. In addition, the processing sequence and programming of some modules such as data receiving and storage, mode decision and switch, CFAR, MTD, plots centroid processing, angle measurement and results summary are discussed in detail.
